Manama, Bahrain: Beyon Cyber, part of the Beyon Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bahrain Polytechnic to collaborate on advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) research and supporting the development of national cybersecurity expertise. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to strengthening Bahrain’s position as a regional leader in AI-driven security operations and to nurturing the next generation of Bahraini talent in emerging technologies. The signing took place on the first day of the Arab International Cybersecurity Conference & Exhibition (AICS), taking place at Exhibition World Bahrain on November 5 and 6.
Beyon Cyber continues to invest in innovation through Orryx AI, a next-generation Security Operations Center (SOC) platform that uses agentic AI technology to enhance cyber defense and automate detection and response capabilities.
Bahrain Polytechnic, for its part, is introducing new postgraduate research programmes both Master’s and Doctoral levels, focused on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. The collaboration will also enable the exploration of patentable innovations, reinforcing Bahrain’s standing as a regional hub for AI and cybersecurity research while expanding pathways for local job creation and talent development.
Dr. Khalid Al Khalifa, CEO of Beyon Cyber, said: “Through this partnership, Bahrain Polytechnic students and researchers will have opportunities to collaborate with Beyon Cyber Labs on advanced AI projects and contribute to the development of new features within the Orryx AI ecosystem. This hands-on exposure will not only enhance their academic experience but also offer them valuable opportunities to work on real-world projects, participate in applied research, and contribute to the creation of innovative solutions.”
Prof. Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, commented: “This collaboration aligns with Bahrain Polytechnic’s mission to bridge the gap between academia and industry. It comes at a pivotal time as we introduce our first doctoral (PhD) research programmes, which focus on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, two areas essential to Bahrain’s digital transformation and future economy. Through partnerships like this, our researchers will not only generate new knowledge but also develop real-world, industry-led innovations that address national and global challenges. We commend Beyon Cyber’s leadership in pioneering this digital collaboration and welcome other industries to follow their example in driving research partnerships that strengthen Bahrain’s innovation ecosystem and digital leadership”.
The partnership highlights the shared vision of Beyon Cyber and Bahrain Polytechnic to accelerate AI innovation, cultivate Bahraini talent, and drive sustainable growth through research and development. Together, both entities aim to shape a future where cybersecurity excellence and technological advancement go hand in hand.
