Beyon and Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) have announced significant sustainability achievements from their two-year collaboration in Bahrain, delivering measurable improvements in network energy efficiency and advancing circular economy practices across Batelco by Beyon’s live networks.

Since the collaboration began, Beyon and Ericsson have achieved up to 30% energy reduction through Ericsson’s 5G Radio 6646, up to 22% energy savings through AI and software features and a further 18% reduction through advanced radio solutions. The collaboration has also delivered an important circularity milestone, with 54 metric tons of end-of-life electronic and electrical equipment responsibly recycled through Ericsson’s E-Waste Programme, supporting Beyon’s efforts to reduce waste and strengthen responsible resource management across its operations.

Alongside these environmental achievements, Beyon team members have participated in ongoing sustainability knowledge-sharing sessions led by Ericsson’s global experts, strengthening internal capabilities and awareness of international sustainability practices.

Building on the progress achieved over the past two years, Beyon and Ericsson have extended their sustainability Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reinforcing their commitment to further advance energy efficiency, carbon reduction and circular economy practices. Under the extended MoU, the companies will explore further opportunities to improve network energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions through innovative technologies and solutions, including

net zero-footprint site solutions. The collaboration will also continue Ericsson’s E-Waste Programme, expand sustainability knowledge sharing through workshops and expert-led sessions, and identify new opportunities for social impact collaboration.
